SHORT SERVICE COMMISSION IN REMOUNT VETERINARY CORPS

Eligibility Conditions
(a) Age- 21-32 yrs as on the last date of application ie 30 Aug 2013.
(b) Education Qualification : BVSc/MVSc & AH or equivalent foreigh Degree
(c) A citizen of India

Method of Selection

(a) Initial screening of applications by Army HQ
(b) Candidates whose applications are in order will be called for Service Selection Board (SSB) selection procedure

(d) Those who qualified in SSB will undergo medical check up 
(e) Merit list is prepared for the medically fit candidates.
(f) Selected candidates as per the merit list are sent for training.

Training ,Terms and Conditions for Service

(a) Grant of Commission : Candidates will be commissioned as Captain
(b) Training : Post commission training will be at RVC Centre and College , Meerut
(c) Ante-date Seniority : 12 / 24 months ante-date seniority will be granted to candidates already having PG/Doctorate Degree in any discipline of Veterinary Sc at the time of commission.
(d) Suitability for retention of Commission : If an officer is found unsuitable within one year of commission,his commission may be terminated at any time before the actual period of service of 5 years.
(d) Promotion : Promotion upto the rank of Major while in SSC and thereafter, if granted PC , upto Colonel (TS) is time bound.
(e) Term of Engagement : As SSC officers will serve for 5 years which may be extendable for another 5 years.
Note :
(a) BVSc/BVSC & AH  degree graduates granted SSC in RVC will be considered for grant of PC only if they are below 30 yrs of age on the date of grant of SSC and if they qualify in Departmental Permanent Commission Test.within 8 years of service.They may take two attempts after completion of  02 years of service and before completion 4 years of service.They will be eligible to take third attempt during their extended tenure of service ie after completion of 5 years of service and before 8 years of service.

 (b) Likewise MVSc/MVSc & AH and Doctorate degree holder will be considered the grant of PC only if they are below 3 & 34 years of age respectively on the date of grant of SSC and if they qualify in the Dept Permanent Commission Test within 8 years of service.

Pay and Allowances :
Commissioned as Captain , the officer will be authorised : Basic Pay 15600/- + Grade pay 6100/- +Military Service Pay 6000/- + Non Practice Allowance (NPA) 25 % of basic pay + Kit Maintenance Allowance (KMA) and Dearness Allowance (DA) as admissible at rates applicable from time to time.

Edn Qualification.

For Engineers (Men and Women)
Candidates Studying in the final yr of Engg Degree and who are qualified Graduates of the degree course in Engg are eligible.The candidates in final y must produce the degree certificate before/within 12 weeks of commencement of the training in OTA. They wll produce a Bond stating if they are not able to produce the degree certificate in time , the complete expenditure whatsoever incurred on them.
Nationality:
A citizen of India or a subject of Nepal/Bhutan/Tibet but of Indian Domicile whose parents entered India befor 01 Jan 1962.
A person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan ,Myanmar,Sri Lanka, and East African Countries like Kenya,Uganda,United Republic of Tanzania,Zambi,Malawai,Zaire,Ethopia and Vietnam with intention to permanently settle down in India as per the Govt rules

Physical Standard
Ht and Wt.
Men Ht :157.5 cm with correlated Weight
Women Ht : 152 cm and Wt 42 Kgs
5 cm relaxation in Ht for the candidates of North East and  Hilly terrain like Gorkhas,Nepalese,Assamese, and Garhwalis.
2 cm relaxation for the candidates of Lakshadweep.

Visual Standards:
Minimum Visual Acuity: Distant Vision corrected 6/6. Worse 6/18,Myopia not more than Minus3.5
Candidates with sign of Karatotomy,Lasik Surgery not acceptable.

Permanent Body Tattoo
Not permitted except on inner face of forearm ie from inside of elbow to the wrist and on the reverse side of palm/back (dorsal ) side of hand.Tribal candidates having tattoo as per their custom may be permitted on a case to case basis.

JOIN ARMY DENTAL CORPS AS SHORT SERVICE COMMISSIONED (SSC) OFFICER

1. Total No. of vacancies - 37
2. Eligibility:
(a) Candidates must be BDS/MDS (with minimum 55% marks in final year BDS) from a College/University recognized by Dental Council of India (DCI).
(b) Should have completed one year rotatory Internship recognized by DCI by 31 Aug 2013.
(c) Should be in possession of Permanent Dental Registration Certificate valid at least upto 31 Dec 2013.
(d) Should be less than 45 years of age as on 31 Dec 2013.
(e) Should be medically fit in all respects for service in the Armed Forces.
3. Selection Procedure:
(a) Short-listing for interview: Candidates found eligible will be shortlisted based on their Final year BDS marks and attempts taken in Final year BDS. Short-listed candidates will be called for interview.
(b) Medical Examination: Candidates provisionally placed on merit list after interview by Selection Board will be brought before a Medical Board for ascertaining their Medical Fitness. The decision of the Medical Board will be final.
4. Emoluments:
The candidates on commissioning in AD Corps will be granted rank of Capt in the pay scale PB-3 (15600-39100). They will be entitled Grade Pay of Rs 6100/-, Military Service Pay (MSP) of Rs 6000/-, Non-practicing Allowance (NPA) at the rate of 25% of the Band pay+Grade Pay+MSP and DA as admissible. In addition, entitled free rations, subsidized accommodation and allied facilities shall be provided. MDS degree holders will be eligible for PG allowance of Rs.1250/- p.m. or ‘specialist pay’ after undergoing the laid down procedure. In addition, officers are entitled to 60 days annual leave & 20 days casual leave, LTC, free Medical facilities for self and family including dependent parents, Group Insurance & unit canteen facility etc. as per the existing rules.
5. Tenure: The SSC tenure is of 5 years extendable by another 9 years in two spells; first of 5 years and second of 4 years (total SSC tenure 14 years) for those who are willing to continue subject to laid down eligibility criteria under the provisions of Army Instructions 15/79 as amended. On completion of 2 years service as SSC officer, they are eligible to apply for limited number of vacancies available for Departmental Permanent Commission (DPC) provided they do not attain the age of 30 years (for BDS candidates) and 35 years (for MDS candidates) on 31 Dec of the year of application for DPC under the provisions of Army Instructions 37/78 as amended.
6. Promotions: SSC officers are eligible for time scale promotion up to the rank of Lt Col. Permanent Commissioned (PC) officers are eligible for time scale promotion up to the rank of Lt Col, thereafter up to the rank of Lt Gen by selection. Candidates who hold three years MDS Degree will be eligible for three years antedate seniority. They will be promoted to the rank of Substantive Major on completion of 1½ years service, whereas, candidates with BDS Degree will be promoted after 4 ½ years.
7. Entitlement Candidates are entitled “To and fro” second class railway fare by Mail/Express train or actual cost of bus fare if the mode of travel is by bus, and, DA at prescribed rates for the days of halt at Delhi. Candidates appearing for the second or subsequent time are not eligible for the above entitlement.
